How to Enter Lucid Dreaming and Remember Your Dream

Lucid dreaming is that peculiar bridge between the mystical and the verifiable. For centuries, practitioners across different traditions have described a state in which the dream continues, yet clear awareness appears within it. Later, science found a more objective way to capture this moment: during REM sleep, using pre-arranged eye-movement signals, researchers were able to describe their dreams while they were still dreaming, and then describe the content again after waking. This shows that lucid dreaming is entirely real and achievable.

And this is where the most important part begins. If you’re seeking lucid dreaming, the first habit to build is something many people don’t really have: dream memory. The truth is that by nature we all have several dreams each night, but if the conditions aren’t right, we simply don’t remember them. Memory on waking is fragile. Once attention shifts to the day, the images of the dream quickly fall apart into forgetfulness, and what remains is the feeling that “nothing happened.”
